Changes

This blog is still on my mind. Just thought of sharing.
The topic of this page/list is Urbanism, but I see it applied to Web 2.0 and technology in general. I found it very insightful and useful to think about new tech in terms of these points. In brackets I listed some examples I immediately thought of:
1. From latent to explicit;
2. From browse to search; (library, catalogs, indexes)
3. From held to shared; (music, files, books, ideas)
4. From expiring to persistent;
5. From deferred to real-time; (Live feeds, Twitter)
6. From passive to interactive;
7. From component to resource;
8. From constant to variable;
9. From wayfinding to wayshowing; (GPS)
10. From object to service;
11. From vehicle to mobility;
12. From community to social network; (Live journal to Facebook, Twitter, etc)
13. From ownership to use; (What is the point/worth of having/creating something if it is of no use?)
14. From consumer to constituent. (To be of worth)
